September 2025

Hello there!
Who am I again? I am Brett Bejcek. I live by my top values of Exploration, Iteration, and Connection. Exploration is what I do; I do it through iteration; and I do it to create more connection. These days, I spend a lot of time working on a startup, Limitless. It is my main priority. Outside of work, I am prioritizing physical health, (re)building community, and cultivating creativity through interesting weekend projects.
Fun Metrics. A peek into my life: some tied to goals, others just for fun. Because I’m not a business, I’m a silly human. And silly humans sometimes spend 30 minutes comparing pastries consumed instead of finishing their to-do list.

Highlights of September:
  • Ohio time: Going home is like opening an old photo album, except instead of pictures it’s boxes of homework and school projects my parents are slowly excavating from the basement. There’s a strange kind of healing in reconnecting with the version of me who scribbled down thousands of pages of math problems in a composite notebook for fun or who spent every Saturday down in the basement with his dad doing chemistry experiments on my prized Chem 2000 set. I’m really proud of that kid and that kid would be proud of where I am now.
  • My creative spark found it’s way back to me: I’ve always said creativity is oxygen for me, and these past few months I’d been feeling short of breath. This month, though, the spark returned. It was a sudden shift. I found myself reaching for the pencil just to draw, or spinning up little weekend projects that have no “business case” except joy. This is my new Saturday night ritual: build for the sake of building. Three side projects shipped, and more in the works.
  • Bad shows: I caught my fair share of stinkerooni productions this month. And honestly…I loved each and every one. There’s something deeply magical about watching a low-budget, self-produced event wobble and collapse under its own ambition. The vulnerability it takes to get on stage with nothing but a dream (and maybe a faulty mic) is pure courage. Growing up in an Ohio suburb, we didn’t really have spaces where people could fail so loudly and publicly. Now, I get to sit in the front row in New York and feel utterly grateful that I live in a city that makes room for both brilliance and beautiful disaster.

Lowlight of September:
  • Philosophy under renovation: I thought by 30 I’d have a neatly packaged worldview, a clean life philosophy to hang on the wall like art. Instead, I keep finding new cracks in the frame. Lately I’ve been rethinking the fundamentals: kids, family, community, hobbies, even what success feels like. Some days it’s unnerving, almost like I’ve been climbing a hill only to look up and wonder if it’s the right one. But maybe that’s the point. Life isn’t a thesis you defend once and for all. It’s more like a moving target, a million shifting variables that don’t stay still long enough to be “solved.” The best I can do is pursue truth in snapshots, and let those snapshots evolve as I do. That’s why I have been journaling more, to keep an eye on those million shifting variables at once. If you don’t check in often, they can shift a lot and then suddenly you end up making decisions out of alignment with where you are now and then spiraling a bit.
How did I do on my goals last month?
All green baby! ✅ Let’s go! Granted a lot of these were just like “chill out for a month,” I will take a win where I can get a win. I feel stabilized and like I am ready for more challenge.

On the first of every month I do a little self-audit and put it out into the world. Why? Accountability, reflection, and because life’s more fun when you share the messy middle.
