July 2025

Hello there!
Who am I again? I am Brett Bejcek. I live by my top values of Exploration, Iteration, and Connection. Exploration is what I do; I do it through iteration; and I do it to create more connection. These days, I spend a lot of time working on a startup, Limitless. It is my main priority. Outside of work, I am prioritizing physical health, (re)building community, and cultivating creativity through interesting weekend projects.
Fun Metrics. A peek into my life: some tied to goals, others just for fun. Because I’m not a business, I’m a silly human. And silly humans sometimes spend 30 minutes comparing pastries consumed instead of finishing their to-do list. It’s called balance.

Highlights of July:
  • Seeing glimpses of my old self by going back to Seattle: Sometimes you go back to an old city thinking you’re just visiting friends and drinking overpriced coffee. Then suddenly you’re face to face with a past version of yourself. Seattle reminded me I’ve climbed a lot since then, but it also tapped me on the shoulder and whispered, “Hey, remember when you used to make things just because it made you smile?” Growing doesn’t mean leaving everything behind. Sometimes it means picking up the good bits you accidentally dropped along the way.
  • Making time to travel to my community: I have this ridiculous privilege of knowing people who feel like rare treasures scattered all over the map. July was about showing up for them. Planes, trains, and too many coffees later, I learned that the actual travel time is never the thing you remember. It’s the slow dinners that turn into late-night heart talks. The laughter so hard you can’t breathe. The reminder that investing in people always pays interest, even if the currency is just joy.
  • Pacific Northwest magic: Mountains that made me stop mid-sentence, water that looked like it had been Photoshopped, sunsets so good they felt like a personal attack. And in the middle of it all, time with friends who feel like home. It’s a good reminder that nature doesn’t just recharge you…it rearranges you. I don’t think I am finished with the PNW just yet in my life.

Lowlights of July:
  • Missing NYC: Being away from New York was tough. I missed the hum of the streets, my morning bagel, the accidental overheard conversations on the subway that make you think about life differently. Sometimes absence doesn’t just make the heart grow fonder. It makes you realize the city is part of your internal rhythm, and when you’re gone too long, the beat changes.

How did I do on my goals last month?
I am proud that none of the continue stopped, but wish I was able to work on some of the other goals a bit more.

On the first of every month I do a little self-audit and put it out into the world. Why? Accountability, reflection, and because life’s more fun when you share the messy middle.
